IH011 - WHAT”S YOUR PERSPECTIVE?

In today’s world, there are two types of people: those who are forward thinkers - people constantly looking to the compelling picture of the future and what it could bring - and those who frequently revisit the past, stressing over the ‘what if’s’ and regretting their decisions. While revisiting our past can certainly be a great tool to teach us how to do things differently moving forward, getting stuck in it - letting our past mistakes and failures take control of our every thought and idea - can be incredibly detrimental for our future growth as entrepreneurs and individuals.

Today, I discuss why it’s important to be a forward-thinking human. I explain how living in the past prevents you from making positive change for your future and how the coronavirus pandemic is forcing organizations and industries to become more forward-thinking in their business approach. I differentiate between being a forward-thinking leader and a revisionary and how embracing the forward-thinking mindset is the key to transforming the world and economy through innovation. I also explain why we need to demand a bold, holistic, and radical picture of the future from our government and organizational leaders and share what I believe it will take for our country to embrace forward-thinking leadership.

“Any human entity - from the individual known as you to the collective known as your ‘mother-land’ - is either looking forward or looking back.” - Chris Colbert
