IH037 - Get Your IQ Score Here
Our country's collective IQ, which in this case refers to integrity quotient instead of intelligence quotient, is created on the back nine of one of the ex-president's perfectly green golf courses. We are all heading back to the clubhouse after one too many integrity sapping mulligans and a few too many gimmies. We have penciled in a false score that claims we are winners when in fact, too many of us are losers. We are losers because we opt to bend the rules, ignore our values, and live our lives like only our life matters. It is clear that our country's IQ may be in danger.
And this prompts the question: what is integrity anyway, and who should care?
Today I share what it means to have integrity, the difficulties in maintaining it, and how country, religion, and culture dictate the meaning of integrity. I reveal how a high integrity quotient requires consistency and explore the causes of a lack of integrity, which are rooted in fear and selfishness. I ponder how courageous we can be and whether we should replace the IQ with CQ; courage quotient. I also fulfill my obligation to test your IQ by asking you to calculate your integrity quotient over the next 24 hours based on your decisions, actions, and words.
“To have integrity is to have the courage to always be honest, do right by others, say we’re sorry when we make a mistake, always obey our laws, and always act in alignment with our values as a species, nation, community, and family.” - Chris Colbert
