IH019 - The Truth About The Truth

We have an inclination to avoid the truth because it exposes us, the worst of us, and the realities of our life. The truth exposes our world, relationships, business, careers, parenting, and everything else. This leaves us as prisoners of our own denial and delusion, with a willingness to embrace the untrue. People have become captives of fake beliefs, principals, and morality, becoming blind to their reality. We tend not to seek the truth and, instead, run away from it.

Today I share how a lack of truth-telling from our leaders and the population results in a loss of our moral, ethical, and human integrity. I discuss the downfalls of building relationships on lies and share how lying is becoming the standard of communication. I expose technology for allowing us to exponentially accelerate our ability to share our unfounded and unchecked opinions and untruths. I reveal how at a click of a button, we can create a filter to hear only the voice of those we want to hear and suppress the opinions that differ from ours. I also discuss the ramifications for future generations that might grow without considering others' views.

“Without the truth, there can be no integrity, and without integrity, there is the degradation of humanity and society.”

- Chris Colbert
