IH045 - The Point is the Point
One of the biggest misses of our lives, countries, and companies is the lack of intentionality, something I call the ‘Essentiality of Intentionality.’ If we do not define the point that we are trying to realize, our ability to realize that point is null and void. An example of this might be waking up intending to lose some weight. Here, the ability to lose weight is negated by the inability to articulate how much weight you want to lose. But, if you wake up and decide you want to lose ten pounds, you have a goal and a marker and something you can gauge your progress against.
Today, I share a paraphrased version of the second chapter of my book, This Is It, which is titled The Point is the Point. I share how there is a lack of intention in the world and explore what constitutes progress and success for our species and what is the point of us. I share why it is imperative to embrace courage and open up our eyes, heart, ears, and physical experiences to realize all new kinds of adventures, people, and situations on your path to discovering the ‘why of you.’ I highlight how you can get to know yourself by observing your actions, reactions, decision-making, behaviors, and feelings. I also share how documentation is a form of commitment and a vital component of finding your point.
