IH066 - The (Real) Future of Work with Jon Levy

Jon Levy is a Behavioral Scientist applying the latest research to transform the ways businesses approach sales, marketing, culture, and consumer engagement. His clients include Google, Microsoft, and Samsung. Jon is also the founder of Influencers Dinner and the author of The 2 AM Principle: Discover the Science of Adventure and You’re Invited: The Art and Science of Cultivating Influence, which explores human connection, community, and trust.

Jon joins me today to discuss the future of work and the theory of hybridization, which involves varying degrees of remote work. He explores the physical, emotional, and social barriers that make a hybrid work pattern unfavorable for most people and roles. Jon reveals the importance of trust and its underlying influencers: competency, honesty, and benevolence. He shares why there is a broad decline of trust in the workplace and the factors that influence finding a balance between entering the workplace and working remotely. Jon also explores the quitting epidemic, the benefits of commute time, loss aversion, and creating an experience of trust and belonging.

“People are burning out. There is quite literally a problem that we are overworking ourselves with a lack of feeling of purpose.” - Jon Levy
