IH069 - This is it - for your business - Chapter TWO
Whether the crux of our collective business problems is customer disloyalty or the concept that computing power will double while the cost of it is cut in half each year - the question is: how do we avoid the same fate that fell on so many business owners before us?
The answer is simple: let history guide us in the right direction.
Today, I discuss how human nature impacts a business’ successes and failures and how we can use history to help us avoid the same mistakes as our predecessors. I discuss what the “Power Period” is for some of history’s greatest empires and their remarkably consistent rise and fall of power. I explain the six stages of the “Power Period” and how they relate to the rise and fall of business empires. I also explain why I believe there are actually seven stages, why I call it the “Hangover Stage,” and what often happens in this stage of a business - or civilization’s - evolution.
